Creative blocks... wordy copy...?
Sometimes, no matter how hard you try (too hard perhaps?) the ideas and words just don't
materialise.
Sometimes, too many words pour out and you don't know where or what
to edit.
If the tips below don't work,
call me and I'll be happy to share more tips... Mind-Map - Be childlike. Start every project with a big, colourful mindmap where anything
goes! Add the power of teamwork - the combined energy of several brains working in a
fun atmosphere is unbeatably creative.
Think about the psychology behind the words- Always write with the outcome firmly in
mind - think backwards! What emotions are you trying to evoke with your words, what
would motivate YOU - put yourself in your client's shoes - what's on their wish list? Humble is good - Ask for help. When you think you've finished, ask a few objective
colleagues to provide feedback, it's better than just hoping what you've produced is okay.
Better still, ask a copywriter to review your project! And avoid proof-reading your own work
because if you've
made a mistake, you're quite unlikely to spot it!
Edit, edit and edit again- Less is more. Every desk and inbox is overloaded with 'read me'
material, so avoid irritating people with too many words. Get the message across quickly,
make the call to action urgent.
FREE APPRAISAL - send me a sample of your business communications and allow me to
review itfree of charge(and no obligation), you'll also get a feel for the way I work...
